Understanding the benefits of whole grains from a human body perspective

This information is long but pivotal! Think of this as a mini-series to break it up.

To commit to anything, I believe you have to know why it's worth doing. We are fearfully and wonderfully created by God and the more I study human anatomy and physiology the more amazed and awestruck I am. Our bodies have been created to function a certain way and have a huge ability to heal, not just deal with adversity, masking symptoms. Much of what is going wrong with people is easily explainable when you understand the effects of various foods, additives and over-the-counter meds. I am not saying whole grains cure everything but as I learn how the body is designed to function, it sure makes sense that whole grains and informed ingredient selection helps keep things working better.

Sue Becker of Bread Beckers Inc. has been studying whole grains and health for over 30 years now. Her message has remained constant since I learned of her work around 2005 but her voice in this arena has become, for me, very rational and resounding in the last year. So I want to present this video to you of Sue explaining digestion and the purpose of each step. It is 3 hours long and I did break it up over a few days (mini series). It is also a lot of information to digest (no pun intended!) but very well presented and anatomy and physiology are generally under studied. If you cannot get to this, Sue does cover much of this in smaller chunks on her podcast, Sue's Healthy Minutes.
